CJAM Group is delighted to welcome a new ‘apprentice’ to the team. Courtney Hicks joins as marketing assistant, following a successful internship during which she impressed us with her enthusiasm, drive and impeccable knowledge of social media! Courtney is already fully involved and up to speed with our latest client campaigns, and will focus primarily on social media marketing and the design and creation of key e-marketing campaigns. She’ll also be managing our website.
“Courtney is joining us at an exciting time for the company as we grow and expand our offering,” comments Christine Joyce, Managing Director, CJAM Group. “We’re keen to maximise the experience we’ve gained working for national organisations and automotive companies to provide local businesses with hard-hitting marketing campaigns. Courtney will play an important role in supporting multiple projects, and her strong customer service skills, creative spark and social media nous will be of great value to the team and our clients.”
Courtney is a prime example of a successful apprentice. A motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn, she hasn’t wasted any time in seeking out prime work experience opportunities. With a keen interest in media, music and dance, Courtney has worked as an assistant celebrity reporter for a news website and at a London PR agency, while gaining solid commercial skills as a sales advisor for retail giant Debenhams. She has also been selected for ITV’s ‘talent pool’ of rising stars in the media industry.
In a flurry of creative activity that would make Lord Sugar proud, her big break came in 2010 when she won a social media-led music competition run by Cancer Research UK. The charity challenged music lovers around the country to create their own ‘ideal gig’ concept, featuring a skin protection message, and drum up support via social media. Courtney’s winning idea attracted more than 6,000 votes, beating strong competition to take the top spot. Her concept was then transformed into reality, with top pop acts taking part in a memorable gig.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the CJAM team and am enjoying the fast-paced work environment,” comments Courtney. “Every day is different and I’m working on a good mix of client campaigns. I’ve even played an on-screen role in a video for a national tyre safety organisation! I’m looking forward to putting my social media marketing experience to good use by driving traffic to our clients’ sites and boosting their online profiles.”
With a BA Honours degree in Business Management in the pipeline, excellent customer service and commercial skills and a new marketing job in the bag, Courtney is all set for a bright future. She’d hold her ground in the ‘boardroom’ any day!
