A pink army from CJAM Group will be joining Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in Castle Park, Colchester, this July.
The team of 12 will walk, run and jog 5km around the castle grounds to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Cancer has affected CJAM Group this year – that’s why staff want to show their support in the fight against cancer, a disease which will affect one in three of us during our lifetime.
Race for Life is the latest in a long line of fundraising activities, which has seen CJAM staff running marathons, shaking collecting tins and rolling around in the mud – all in the name of fundraising.
Social Media Manager Courtney Hicks said: “Every woman in the office who is able to has signed up for Race for Life this year. Even one who is a grandmother and some of our daughters are taking part. The guys in the office are coming along to support us, in silly costumes and with a glass of pink bubbly at the finish line! As a team, we understand how much charities can benefit from the support of the community. We want to give something back, show our support and make a small difference to help beat cancer sooner.
“If you would like to sponsor us, head to our Just Giving page and help us show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink!”
Over the past 20 years, more than eight million women have taken part in Race for Life, raising over £547 million to fund the charity’s work.
This year, Cancer Research UK hopes that Race for Life will raise £50 million to help find cures for all 200 types of cancer.
