We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new social media and digital marketing apprentice, Lucy Mitchell. She has hit the ground running and is already hard at work, helping our social media expert Courtney Hicks to manage client websites and social media channels.
“We’re delighted that Lucy has joined us to build her knowledge of social media in practice and help deliver high impact digital marketing campaigns for our clients,” says Managing Director Christine Joyce. “Clients are increasingly asking us to manage their social media activities and we see this area of the business growing in 2015. Lucy’s enthusiasm and outgoing personality are already proving an asset to the team.”
Lucy developed her keen interest in social media while living in Thailand, where she attended the British International School in Phuket. She regularly took stunning pictures of the Thai landscape and posted them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Having recently returned to England, Lucy was keen to begin a career in digital marketing and joined the 3aaa programme at Chelmsford Academy, where she is undertaking a Level 3 Diploma in Social Media for Business.
“I’m thrilled to join the CJAM team and looking forward to completing my apprenticeship here,” says Lucy. “I really enjoy learning in a ‘hands on’ way and it’s great to be given an opportunity to roll my sleeves up and get involved with client work right from the start.”
Lucy has previously completed an internship with Victoria’s Secret in New York, where she assisted with organising charity balls, dinners and fundraising events. She also gained experience of managing events and charitable initiatives in Thailand, including swimming lessons for local orphanages, designing a school year book and fundraising for AIDS and HIV shelters. Lucy speaks Thai and Spanish, and enjoys theatre, acting and water sports.
