It’s coming! The week for you to make a big difference! For one week in May, people all over Essex will be making a difference to survivors of brain injury, their families and carers.
Every day more than 2,500 people in the UK suffer a brain injury. It can happen to anyone, anywhere at any time and is the foremost cause of death and disability in young people. Imagine waking up and not recognising your own child, not remembering your family or friends and having to re-learn your life. Headway Essex, our 2012 charity, helps to rebuild lives and put the pieces back together. This is your chance to change a life.
The charity is inviting local businesses, clubs, schools, nurseries and individuals, to get involved in activities to help raise funds to allow them to continue to provide vital services throughout the county to survivors of brain injury.
Monday May 14th – Sunday May 20th is Action for Brain Injury week. A week designed to raise awareness of the devastating effects of brain injury and the impact it has on the whole family. To support this, the Headway Essex team are hoping local people will get involved and come up with their own fundraising activities during this week. Whatever ideas you have, from the simple to the wild, wacky and extreme challenges, they will help with posters and publicity to support you.
Struggling to know what to do? Don’t worry. Headway has loads of fun, fantastic fundraising ideas for you from skydiving to knitting! Or why not join “Hats 4 Headway” on Friday 18th May? Wear your favourite hat (the funnier the better) to work, college or school for a day and donate £1 to the charity in return.
